The Sustained Ring Soldering Module from EUTECT produces solder rings from standard solder wires, directly from the commercially available solder wire reel, which enable a new cycle time-optimized, highly accurate and economically sustainable assembly soldering process.
Using the newly developed SRS module, pre-assembled solder rings can be produced on the fly and placed around THT pins, for example. These are then processed using laser, piston, induction soldering, IR emitters or hot air.
The SRS module is a fully automatic ring production device. It is used to produce specific solder rings from customer and product-specific solder wires with or without a flux core. Different solder wires with defined ring diameters can be produced and supplied depending on the diameter of the mould used. The automatically reproducible solder rings can be positioned manually, using special tweezers and magazine dispensers, and automatically, using a special highly dynamic pick & place handling system, on the solder joints to be processed or over the fully plated pins.

The centrepiece of the SRS module is the ability to produce solder rings fully automatically from customer and product-specific solder wires. Both wires with a flux core and pure solder wires can be used. Special tools are used to shape the wires into rings with defined diameters, which can then be optimally adapted to the requirements of the respective soldering process. The finished solder rings can be positioned manually with tweezers, via magazine dispensers or automatically by means of highly dynamic pick & place systems on the corresponding soldering points. This flexibility in handling makes the module particularly versatile.
A key feature of the SRS module is its high precision. The exact and reproducible dosing of the solder ensures a consistently high quality of the subsequent solder joints. At the same time, the module is characterized by remarkable sustainability, as almost 100 percent of the solder wire is processed. This effectively minimizes material waste.
The efficiency of the SRS module is particularly evident in the optimization of cycle times. As the solder rings are directly available, the production process is significantly accelerated. In addition, the decoupling of the placement and soldering process enables even greater flexibility and productivity.
