The SWF is the only one of its kind worldwide: a patented, force/displacement-controlled wire feeder for laser soldering, induction soldering and piston soldering. Thanks to these properties, the SWF is a crucial key technology for making the entire brazing process safe and reproducible. However, these advantages can also be utilized for other applications, since the SWF can also feed wires, e.g. in medical technology or for welding, etc.
The SWF's electromechanical sensor system enables optimally controllable, reproducible and kink-free wire feeding, setting new standards in process reliability. The system recognizes the moment when the solder wire has arrived at the process surface and begins to melt, based on the changed wire contact force. It reacts to errors such as an incorrectly positioned or dodged wire and also bridges tolerances in the working height. This enables complete process data acquisition and, accordingly, 100% traceability for each selective solder joint.
By using the SWF and the specific wire feed, solder consumption can be minimized. In addition, the design of the SWF reduces maintenance costs and the need for spare parts to a minimum. The specific construction allows the SWF module to be flexibly integrated into a production cell. The intelligent wire feeder is also characterized by short set-up times when changing wires or assemblies. The SWF is suitable for laser, piston and induction soldering and not only transports solder wires with different thicknesses.
