System integrators and machine builders are faced with a variety of challenges in the production of complex modern technologies. The joining specialist EUTECT therefore supports complex production processes in the electronics industry and other manufacturing sectors with its specially developed Sensitive Wire Feeder (SWF), which is the only one of its kind in the world to offer travel and force-controlled wire feeding.
"The path and force-controlled wire feeder from EUTECT is not only designed for soldering processes, but can also be used in other industrial sectors," explains Lars Iwers, sales and marketing employee at EUTECT GmbH. "For example, the force sensor installed in the SWF between two housings can use the resulting force to recognise when and whether a wire has reached a process point. This means that the wire processing process only starts when the wire is actually in position. This also means that a kinking or deviating wire, for example, is recognised and a processing step may not even be started," adds Iwers.
However, wire feeders are mostly used in the field of selective soldering. For example, the SWF travel and force-controlled wire feeder guarantees maximum reproducibility in laser, piston and induction soldering.
Sophisticated technology from the modular system
The travel and force-controlled SWF is in the Modular construction kit which the soldering specialist EUTECT has developed based on decades of experience. Designed on the basis of over 40 years of mechanical engineering experience, the modular system includes not only the wire feeder but also other sophisticated solutions for selective soldering and the kinematic systems required for an automation solution. System integrators and machine builders therefore benefit from the high level of flexibility offered by the EUTECT modular system. This allows them to optimally fulfil product-specific requirements and flexibly design production systems for the highest possible degree of efficiency.
