Solution competence

EUTECT has built up this expertise primarily through a combination of process know-how, years of experience, system integration, understanding of materials and a high degree of specialisation in demanding soldering applications. This experience is particularly crucial in the fields of power electronics, automotive, medical technology and industrial electronics.

The following reasons for this expertise should be emphasised:

In-depth process understanding in selective soldering

EUTECT not only develops machines, but also complete soldering processes. In high-temperature soldering, parameters such as temperature profiles, heat input, wetting, flux behaviour and thermal load are particularly critical.

The deep understanding of the process results in a multitude of added values for the customer:

  • Precise temperature control
  • Controlled heat input for component protection
  • Reliable, stable, controlled processes suitable for mass production, designed for demanding soldering tasks
  • Reproducible results for complex assemblies
  • Low service and maintenance costs for modules and machines

Theses EUTECT has built up expertise in 30 years of process development for a large number of customers and application areas.

Focus on demanding applications

High-temperature brazing is primarily required where standard processes are not sufficient:

  • Power electronics
  • Applications with high thermal load
  • Sensors and industrial electronics
  • Assemblies with high reliability requirements

EUTECT works specifically in these high-end segments. This results in in-depth specialised knowledge and understanding of the customer application.

In-house development of soldering modules and process hardware

A key factor in being able to realise such customer requests is the in-house development of core technologies:

  • Mini-shaft, titanium mask, workpiece carrier and nozzle technology from a single source
  • Precise heating and temperature control
  • Regulated, specific, inductively pumped high-temperature soldering modules
  • Modular process integration in automation systems
  • In-house software development

This enables EUTECT to offer the entire process with all components from a single source.

Holistic approach instead of selling machines

EUTECT supplies functioning, validated soldering processes and machines that can be integrated into the customer's existing production structures without major commissioning work.

This includes:

  • Process development and evaluation
  • Material, solder and flux selection
  • Component analysis
  • Preliminary tests and process qualification
  • Stable series processes on delivery

This holistic approach is particularly important for high-temperature soldering in order to develop a reliable, efficient process for the customer.

Modular automation and integration expertise

High-temperature processes often have to be integrated into complex production lines.

EUTECT combines:

  • Soldering technology
  • Automation solutions
  • Software control
  • Process control and monitoring

This enables stable inline processes even with demanding thermal requirements.

FAQs

High-temperature brazing refers to brazing processes with temperatures typically exceeding 350 °C, depending on the brazing alloy used. It is used when assemblies need to withstand high thermal or mechanical stresses, for example in power electronics, electromobility or in applications with elevated operating temperatures and long service life requirements.

High-temperature brazing enables brazed joints with high thermal and mechanical stability. The use of high-melting-point solder alloys improves creep resistance and reduces the probability of failure under thermal cycling. This is particularly relevant for long-life assemblies subject to high current densities and cyclic temperature stresses.

During high-temperature soldering, components and printed circuit boards are subjected to high thermal gradients. Precise control of temperature profiles, heating rates and wetting time is essential to prevent delamination, component damage or insufficient wetting. EUTECT uses validated process windows to ensure stable mass production processes.

Typical applications include power semiconductors, power supplies, electric motors and assemblies in automotive and industrial electronics. High-temperature soldering is essential, particularly in cases involving high operating temperatures, high current loads or safety-critical functions, in order to ensure long-term reliability and mechanical stability.

Reproducible processes require defined process windows, closed-loop control systems for temperature and solder flow, and continuous process monitoring. In-line systems with a nitrogen atmosphere and validated parameters, such as those used by EUTECT, ensure consistent quality in series production.
