EUTECT Modular System Overview

Due to increasing miniaturisation and ever higher packaging density, the demands on the individual production steps in the electronics industry are rising.

This is also the case for laser soldering of assemblies, where precise alignment of the laser is a guarantee for avoiding solder bridges and for highly accurate, reproducible soldering results. As miniaturisation and increased packing density are an unstoppable trend, we offer the JENvelt® from Jenoptik to ensure even more precise alignment of the laser for future applications.

The JENvelt® is a plug & play solution combining 2D galvo scanner, F-Theta lens and camera with integrated image processing and intelligent software. It is a platform solution that can be optimised for different applications and integrated into existing machine solutions as a ready-to-install system. This software is the core of the system, which combines scanner and laser control as well as image recognition. The software maps manufacturing projects, ensures the monitoring of the running process as well as the evaluation and feedback of the acquired data into the control system.

JENvelt for precise laser soldering at high packing densities

For laser soldering, we use a laser with integrated pyrometer to permanently monitor, control and store the heat input for tracking.

Furthermore, it should be prevented that a component heats up or is affected due to a too long process time. This pyrometer control is carried out via an external LASCON controller.

Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) is today’s test method for the quality control of assembled PCBs.

AOI is used to ensure that the PCB has been processed without errors or that any errors that occur are detected as early as possible. Eutect is able to implement AOI systems from different manufacturers downstream of the soldering process, in its own cell.

Integrated AOI in laser soldering system

With the Process data acquisition, all data relating to the machine and the process are recorded and spread out.

Furthermore, the production data acquisition checks the production preconditions. The process data is also assigned to the exact component.

Flux jet detection is used to control the amount of flux to be applied by means of spray or inject fluxes.

For this purpose, the flux beam is detected and measured by means of a sensor system. The amount of flux is recorded and stored for traceability.
